Indeed, Seat61 website (often used for people looking for an idea how to travel by train for long-distances in Europe) mentions where specific series of AVE are regularly used. It also mentions that if you pick a 'Elige' fare, add seat selection, input dummy data and finally get to pick your seat it will display a seat map allowing you to identify the train type by comparing it to seat maps also on the Seat61 website.
