I booked 5 nights at this hotel (DoubleTree Kyoto Station) using points. In order to take advantage of the 5th night free discount, I had to book the only "standard room reward" available: a queen. (All the other rooms for my dates were "premium room reward"). As a Diamond member, I'm hoping to be upgraded. But, now I'm second guessing my strategy.

If I book a queen room, does that mean that I would only be eligible for other "queen" rooms as upgrades, like the queen executive, or would I have the option of being upgraded to a twin or double executive/suite?

At this point, I'm thinking of canceling my reservation and re-booking a "premium reward" twin room without the 5th night free discount.

What do you guys think?
