There is a type of A320 where they wouldn't be allowed in 1A to 1C (or row 1 at all since the "other side" is row 2), which is the G-GATx aircraft where there is no bulkhead so the seats are exit rows. The one time I've been on Titan it had BA style bulkheads though, but beware of equipment changes if these are Gatwick flights.
