We have stayed here a few times over the past 2 decades. Have never been disappointed - the rooms are solid and reasonably quiet. The old lounge was decent but the lounge attendant was superb!

The only caveat is that you may find long lines at the front desk at late evening (eg after 10pm). Fortunately we did not have to wait at all.

The rates are a good deal though typically the parking package is a little cheaper elsewhere.

Typically Hyatt LAX is our #1 choice as we can use Cat 4 certs or low points and we like the ability to easily walk to T1 or even T7. But the Westin is a good backup.

Did you use the shuttle to the hotel? How did that go? Have to wait long?
I believe last time we stayed they had set departure times from the hotel. We did not have to wait long. Of course you will need to allocate more time to get to T8 than T1.

Shuttle Pickup at LAX is always hit or miss depending on traffic, time of day, etc.
