It cannot be done in a single transaction but it certainly can be done (e.g. 2 PNRs with 5 people each). Usually it's a much better idea to go via the Group Desk for other reasons but if you really, really, want to book a group without dealing with humans "where there's a will there's a way"
The group desk is super helpful. They are the best UA phone agents I've ever dealt with. I'd definitely recommend booking through them for a group of 10 or more. Three things to note though: 1) they will only help you if you booked it all as one transaction through them, 2) seat assignments and changes can only be made through them on the phone, and 3) they're closed on nights and weekends.
