It varies by the restaurant. One of the Resy restaurants uses Toast when you physically go there. If you order their gift cards online, they use a different payment system (at least ours does). I have not tried the other 2 places in my area (there's only like 4 within a 60 mile radius)
You might be able to get around this by using the Toast app to load the restaurant directly, assuming they have GCs available in their Toast point of sale.
