No, I agree that it's pleasant. I like the walk. It just feels longer to me.
But, from Yankee Pier To: (via https://www.mappedometer.com/)
G1: 0.2 miles (shared along all three paths)
F18-F22 area is 0.27 miles
D1 area is 0.29 miles (~the same)
E9-E13 area is 0.20 miles. ("much") shorter.

Unless your UA flight lands in D1/D18, it's objectively a longer (and without moving walkways in F, slower) walk from D than F or E to the G gates via the historical/current(?) G-F1 connector.

With the time difference probably no more than 1-2 minutes at a fast walk for the three paths. So, agree, it don't practically matter much and not worth quibbling over. Apologies for bringing it up and derailing the discussion.
