You're not entitled to any compensation, not that you'd get any in the US but you could've checked in on the mobile app or at a kiosk you also could've just simply arrived earlier.
OP arrived on time. (And 10 minutes is plenty of time at such small stations). Clearly checking in on the mobile app wouldn’t have solved the lack of paper problem for the bag tag printer. Not their fault that AS didn’t properly stock the bag check counters. AS should pay for hotel expenses, transportation, meals and provide adequate compensation for the inconvenience. And AS should figure out how to prevent this from happening again.
