I believed you were incorrect about qualifying miles towards Prefer Status with Azul flights but after double checking Copa's website you are correct. This has to be new but unannounced because I studied for weeks which to join (Mileageplus vs. Connectmiles) and only found that Azul flights qualified on MP but not Connectmiles. Or maybe it was always this way but the website did not include the full info.
I actually found out by looking at my Copa account after an Azul flight and seeing the qualifying miles there, I initially thought it wouldn't count for status.
