Curious why you say that? Sapphire gets 3 points==miles on all travel and is instantly convertible to United miles (and other options which I've never used). Plus, a real Priority Pass membership unlike others with restrictions. So a card costing ~four times* as much as Sapphire would have to offer something considerably more than Sapphire to be of remote interest (to me).
*4x because the effective cost of the Sapphire card is $250/yr after the $300 annual rebate on anything coded as travel.
I'm with you on this, I have the club card which sits in my dresser, and use my sapphire reserve to buy my personal flights. Math obviously changes if you don't have actual earned UA status.
