While I concur as just college students they should not pre-b, some comments above are technically incorrect referencing that none of the students have any military connection.

Some college students in ROTC, those on scholarship for example, are sworn into the reserves (that is how Uncle Sam can 'own' the students amd pay them) from the ranks of E-1 to E-3 during their college. The cadet does not drill but they get paid a monthly stipend, get a military CAC card, though they are not on active duty yet. The cadet finishes their four years and commissions as an O-1 and is then on active duty. So some do have both a connection and an obligation to the military. It still does not meet the proboarding requirements.

Also, high school JR-ROTC has no miltary obligation nor connection for the students. ROTC, which is at university, does have the connection and obligation...
Then we could get into CAP, civil air patrol...lol

I didn't travel in uniform much, in fact the Air Force frowned upon it for some time, though for several years late aughts to early teens, I would see many in uniform. Now I rarely see it. In the past six months I have seen two of the eight uniformed services flying UA in uniform; one army (guard) guy and one NOAA commissioned corps guy (in a flight suit ironically). If these kids ever try it in uniform get pics!
