The guy sitting next to me boarded the plane just after and immediately asked me "What do you do in the military?" I was confused and replied I wasn't in the military, and he said "Well you boarded when they called military." I said "Yes, they called Global Services as well." That was the end of the conversation but I was a bit mortified he thought I had been cheating the process, I was actually glad he said something.
I've had very similar discussions when flying to BAH and FRA -- and although I never served actively it was always a great discussion -- to this day my favorite flights are with active military -- and I've traded seats many times -- but then again I'm biased.... To get back on topic -- these students were totally abusing the privilege -- I hope they get disciplined for it....
