Never used the baggage delay insurance before. Flew last Saturday (day after CrowdStrike mess started) SFO-CUN, tickets paid for by card. Flight was fine - short delay - but bag with all our clothes didn't make it. Scheduled to be put on about 4 different flights later the same day, but only arrived to CUN 24 hours after our initial departure, and at our accommodation ~32 hours after our arrival.

Have sent an initial claim into our airline (United) for interim expenses, however, once completing that, it says it may be up to 4 weeks for processing. Worried in case UA decides to deny our claim (or part of). Couple of questions:

- Believe I can file all the forms on eClaimsline website - however, terms seem to indicate we need to call the benefit administrator within 20 days (or as soon as reasonably possible) after the bag was delayed, and then submit completed form/docs within 90 days. Does that mean I should start the form online within that 20 days, then wait the up to 4 weeks in case UA denies all/part of the claim, then finalize the docs with Chase?
- Given the timing, seems like the benefit should give us up to $200/pp, $100 for the first 6 hours, then an additional $100 for the next 24. Is that correct? We spent close to $300.
- What documentation does Chase need to verify the time the bag was delayed. I had an updated copy of the bag tracing, and it correctly shows our original flight date (July 20), and the 'received' date as July 21 and 'delivered' date as July 21 - that doc also shows the delivery process was 'initiated' even though it was delivered 4 days ago (amazing...in 40 years I don't think lost bag tracing has improved at all...except for the ability to see the highly delayed information online vs. having to call to hear the same highly delayed information). There is also supposed to be a 'delivery tracker', however, for whatever reason, it says 'tracking unavailable' for our claim. Therefore, the most specific I have is the date of delivery, not the time.
- Anything else I should be aware of when filing the claim?
