On the NH160 (HND-JFK) service in Y, the first meal service (on a 10pm departure) for a pre-ordered vegetarian lacto-ovo (VLML) meal consisted of two bite-sized, plain bread rolls! After getting over the shock, I asked for butter, which took 10 minutes to arrive and then a knife followed five minutes after that... I thought it a bit late in the year for an April Fool's joke but alas I starved the entire way because the mid-flight meal was a paltry sandwich and the only full meal service was offered about 90 minutes before landing.

I usually step off long haul flights feeling bloated but I can safely say this is the first time I have come off one famished!

This is also the first time I strayed from JAL on my trips to Japan and can safely say I have learnt my lesson. For comparison, JAL actually understand passengers with dietary requirements also need to eat on long haul flights (even in Y!).
you ordered VLML and got organic grape juice and are still complaining?
