I am on your page. We are also self funded recreational travellers paying with after tax dollars.

During the last 18 months or so, I have booked about 9 months in advance as the trend towards higher fares seemed relentless.

Fares for the two of us in business low on our most frequent dollar weighted biz low route twice a year trip of YYJ - LHR return went from about $8,000 pre Covid to about $11,000 post Covid.

The most recent fare quote for the two of us in March / April 2025 on a YYJ -LHR return is about $14,000 in biz low.

It seems that AC have hit peak ridiculousness.

The fares have gone from expensive to egregious.

We are now on a buyer’s strike and happy to be BA Silver and WestJet Gold rather than AC SE depending on what AC do with fares over the next few months.

It will be interesting to see if AC are in a doom loop, a death spiral or a viscous circle with respect to fares. I am pretty sure that they are not in a virtuous circle.
