I have not received the apology email. On Monday my flight was canceled at the gate just prior to boarding (flight had been on time until that point). Incidentally, I received no in-app notifications, emails, texts, or anything else on that cancellation either.
Frankly I wasn't expecting anything insofar as an apology or compensation, as I managed to get out on the next flight with only a few hours delay...faring far better than many people out there.
