I’m worried that an incompetent agent will mess up my return and leaving me stranded (or something else along those lines).
2. I used AA miles for my canceled outbound. The price Delta could or should reimburse me is debatable since it’s miles. Thus, I’m thinking of asking them to reimburse me the cost it is to buy the miles. Is that fair?
3. Finally, I have the Delta Amex Platinum which gives free bags. Is me asking them to reimburse me the bag fee for my AA flight acceptable?
Thank you!
1. I would wait until 8/3, then follow up with Delta and if needed the DOT. The DOT investigation will take months to complete, as 3,000 + complaints will not be investigated prior to 8/3. I believe that the airlines have 30 days to response to a DOT complaint.
2. This is a gray area, as maybe you use The Points Guy AA mile valuation as a basis for the flight price to be reimbursed.
3. If you have a receipt for your AA baggage expense, then submit to Delta as that is considered a transportation expense.
