I'm assuming there's currently no way to transfer status across different alliances?
Also how does the Qantas frequent flyer program compare to Air NZ? E.g. how easy is it on Qantas to Gold equivalent when paired with an Australia Qantas AMEX card? Most of my flights will be Australian domestic or trans-Tasman
I reckon the Qantas Tier Accelerator status match/challenge is your best bet to try and get your Air NZ Gold status matched to Qantas Gold status – see https://www.executivetraveller.com/n...tus-match-2024

Indeed there's not.

Anecdotally, most people I speak with rate the Qantas program as superior to that of AirNZ, although admittedly I'm speaking with Aussies and am not an 'expert' by any stretch on Airpoints. But for mainly AU domestic flights QF is your better bet, and trans-Tasman to, especially if you can wing your way towards Qantas Platinum status and thus be able to enjoy the domestic business lounges and of course SYD/MEL international first lounges ahead of a quick trip across the ditch.
