Does anyone have recent experience on DEL as a transit for Intl to Intl in J? I have about 11 hours layover WAW-DEL-SYD on a single ticket (J on LO and then J on AI). Single ticket issued by Air Canada.
Is it really necessary to get an Indian e-visa "for safety" given some opinions that departure authorities (eg in WAW) will require this? Or is that nonsense. (Seems nonsense to me, but bureaucracy is bureaucracy). I've been trying to get an e-visa but have given up - due to the e-visa website bugs (have tried all the browsers and get Timed out, Invalid Request or 500 Server errors after trying to save and proceed to the next page.)
Also is the DEL lounge good enough for a 11 hour layover - with any places to sleep, or is it best to book the Holiday Inn Express in Terminal 3 for a few hours shuteye - particularly as WAW-DEL flight gets in around 3.00am.
