It's not, it's CZ658, the direct SFO-CAN flight. I can't seem to embed a screenshot, but see:

As far as I can see, the nonstop CZ LAX/SFO-CAN flights all price at 495k SkyPesos across most of the calendar.
And as a side note, unticking the "My dates are flexible" box usually gets around #ROF4002_999.

Yeah, that nonstop doesn't really drop much below $800 no matter what other cities you tack onto it, but Asiana for $621 looks okay to me, and I'm not sure I'd part with 37.5k beloved AA miles (assuming they give it to you), knowing that I'm only getting 1.5 cpm and that 14 hours on a CZ airplane in economy was my sentence.
You're correct, it should be 37.5k. And I have called multiple times to no avail, hence the post here on FT.
If it was for me, I would have given up after the first call haha. But it's for an older family member, so direct SFO/LAX-CAN is highly preferable versus a stop in ICN/TPE/TYO. I would take HKG on CX if there was space on my dates, but there isn't. Trust me, I would not want to spend 14 hours in CZ economy either.
