I just had the same experience on SIN-CDG and was shocked at how bad it was. If the catering is that bad in PE, then how bad is it in normal Economy these days?? FAs were offhand too, but that can happen (too often on AF these days IMO).

The seat is terrible and I was lucky it was a day flight. My seat neighbour, escaping from Nouméa on a hellishly long itinerary, said to not touch the seat controls and leave it in take-off mode for the whole flight. But it was too late and I couldn't get the seat back into base position (not that it moved that much away from base position). Total discomfort.

There was some important acting nerd, either an Ulti, or F&F, or staff, and he disappeared to Economy for most of the flight. I imagine they blocked an entire row of seats right at the back for him. He got an awful lot of attention when in his PE seat (that's what made me think F&F), but nobody cared. The other pax all kept to themselves, which is the way it should be ideally, I suppose.
