As KLM indeed did in the past - flights to Taiwan were on KL Asia. Until China and Taiwan relations got better and China-Taiwan flights came into being. Am in Xiamen now where they build a new airport opposite to Kinmen island. Kinmen is some 5 km off the coast and still controlled by Taiwan. Site of severe crises in the 1950s and 1960s with shelling and so on. Relations are so cozy now that you can take a handful of ferry's daily to visit this Taiwan territory, and the island is likely to be connected with a bridge to the new airport.
