Probably out of the last 20 status match promos from world's airlines I have seen, none of them cared to match NZ status. That says something about the programme.
I think it says more about the fact that most don't fly here not compete with Air NZ on routes. The idea of a status match is to try and bring business across from other airlines. Why would you offer to status match passengers to a destination you don't fly to? That would just be pointless.
