You might be right that’s there’s no compensation for inconvenience here but the contract should be made whole ie two bedrooms at another hotel, with comparable facilities for the exact same price (if that’s lower than what the OP would otherwise pay on the open market now it’s 7 days out)
In the first instance I would make it clear how much of an inconvenience this is and your plans are fixed and can they find you comparable accommodation elsewhere for a similar cost.
if it was a points booking I would contact Marriott asking exactly the same question.
I am no lawyer but from what little research I did in EU consumer laws under hotels and passenger travel, this isn't covered. Under Marriott T&C this is covered and isn't considered a walk. Looking at travel reviews on trip advisor for this hotel, it appears this has happened to others as well.
Honestly just calling the hotel and explaining how much of an inconvenience this is may or may not cause them to help you. Want to seek legal advice? I wouldn't come to this forum for that. It all depends on how bad you want to pursue this.
