I was just thinking about the driving alternative. We are flying BOS-JFK-BCN on Saturday, with a long layover in JFK. Not worried about that TATL portion, but BOS-JFK is in the morning and could be a prime opportunity for cancellation.

At this point I would absolutely be looking at a ground transport Plan B option BOS-JFK and be ready to pull the trigger. You don't want to be one of the people left behind on JFK-BCN because you've got no way to get to JFK. I've already done something similar for a Saturday trip to Europe.
