Does the old adage of 'BA will never buy new for Gatwick' still carry weight in this new leisure travel led world? Those packed to the rafters 77E must earn a mint.
With regards to your first query, the 787 is a 'fully electric' plane and, in the even of an unserviceable APU (dispatchable defect) then the ground power required is quite big. It's only a problem for 787s. In terms of maneuverability, in all honesty it depends on the airport. The 78X is longer than a 77E/L, but shorter than a 77W. If adequately planned, every airport can find solutions.
