Is the GPU situation the only limited factor for the 78X? maneuverability wise would such a long bird be able to navigate some of the smaller destinations?

Does the old adage of 'BA will never buy new for Gatwick' still carry weight in this new leisure travel led world? Those packed to the rafters 77E must earn a mint.
