Second stay has failed to post entirely. It's just annoying because the true 4 EQNs would unlock my 75 night NUAs for use during my remaining stays this month. Oh well, it's our own fault for being too loyal to Marriot Bonvoy, I shall wait out the 10 days for failing to give Hilton or Hyatt a chance.
That's crazy. I have had long connections in SFO from an international arrival before heading to ANC. The Westin SFO has (or maybe had) a day-use rate that specified you would earn one night and all points as a normal stay. I then stayed at the ANC Sheraton and had no problem getting normal credit although I was checking in on the same calendar day.
BTW they still had the day use rate two years ago, I remember comparing it to the new rate Marriott invented during the pandemic where you could work in a hotel room during business hours. That special pandemic rate was shorter in time, more expensive and did not accrue a one-night stay, I forget what they called it.
