Yes, but since BA awards are distance based, stuff like SFO-CAN would price highly if you could book it, and CAN-LHR/CDG/AMS is even sillier because revenue fares are so low.
Here's an example of a route I've been searching - SFO-CAN on Nov 9. DL shows 2 Y at 495k SkyPesos,
I just tried searching delta.com using your case and received the same error I've become all too familiar with:
We're sorry, but there was a problem processing your request. Please try again. #ROF4002_999
But, the 495k pricing sounds suspiciously like SFO-SEA-PVG-CAN, which is something Delta is fond of offering. If you are able to get the CZ flight in isolation, the award chart rates should kick in...just like partner awards on AA.com.
AF/KL shows 2 Y at 59.5k, BA's site does not show space, and AA agents can't see anything at all.
Yeah, that leads me to believe that partner inventory might actually exist. We can't conclude that it doesn't based on delta.com queries alone (Delta blocks a lot of stuff either intentionally or because of system compatibility issues). Still, if I had 60k FB miles, SFO-CAN in economy would not be on the top of my list for redemptions.
In theory, this should price at 40k AA,
I'm pretty sure it
should price out at 37.5k (same as SFO-HKG)...and the fact that SFO-HKG is easy to book would be sufficient to make me throw in the towel, but if you fancy a phone call (you might get connected with an agent faster via chat, but trust me that experience can be really frustrating), maybe they can work some magic.
which compares passably to $700-800 cash fares. If only AA could book it...
Yeah, that nonstop doesn't really drop much below $800 no matter what other cities you tack onto it, but
Asiana for $621 looks okay to me, and I'm not sure I'd part with 37.5k beloved AA miles (assuming they give it to you), knowing that I'm only getting 1.5 cpm and that 14 hours on a CZ airplane in economy was my sentence.

Maybe it is possible (see above).
why do CZ award prices vary so much on CZ from the CZ award chart using CZ pts?
I'm not sure what you're talking about. I noticed you also posted about this in another thread in the more relevant forum, though. Maybe you could post some examples there. I don't collect CZ miles myself (I credit flights to AA , BA, or DL, depending on fare class), so Sky Pearl redemptions aren't in my wheelhouse.
how do you get more CZ points?
You could get one of their cobranded credit cards, I suppose, but the credit card miles game isn't especially rewarding in China (to be fair, this seems to be the case in most non-US markets).
