Sorry to not be clear, I was comparing the improvement of quality on PR (which flies the route), to the quality decline of CX.
I know CX don't fly to GUM but for some reason I keep thinking CX was part of an option many years back, with a code-share with Air Niugini. I think you fly GUM-POM-HKG-MNL, with CX operating the last leg. This was some time back, way before they flew nonstop to MNL.
I think Air Niugini then code-shared with PR when that tie-up with CX ended, then eventually flying nonstop.
