Also - is your LHR-GLA on the same ticket as the LAX or separate? If the latter, and you have a Plus fare, you may be able to do same-day change to an earlier flight. Unfortunately you won't be able to do that otherwise as it's not something BA offers on other tickets (except during disruption).
