Before COVID, Delta was impressively operationally focused, setting records of days without mainline cancellations and having far fewer delays than the other US carriers.

Since COVID/Ed Bastian’s takeover, the airline seems to perform in line with peers, and now appears to be collapsing on par with Southwest’s holiday meltdown.
