Rates are decent so I figured I'd give it a try vs staying downtown (Westin or Marriott LeCom).
I just stayed there during the past week. I have a long history with this hotel but more recently have gravitated to the nearby Reikart House. With the latter going for $300+ for an overnight stopover it was back to the Marriott. Received a renovated room, which was fine despite missing some furniture (which was brought); bed and shower were good. Hallways were lacking some finishing touches and the entire pool area is closed - both indoor and outdoor. The exec lounge was open on the 10th. floor, with evening service and selection being quite good. An attendant quickly replenished the food selections but was unable to collect for bar purchases, leading to significant "use" of the open bar whenever he turned his back or left the room to get more food. A couple of tables took full advantage of the situation. Beer was in a locked refrigerator and there was no wine on offer. A large soda cooler was available at all times with a good selection of chips and snacks. Breakfast was another story. The lounge was completely packed, food was emptied quickly and slow to be replenished by the surly attendant. Food and coffee would run out in minutes.
Overall it was a good value for the price paid, depending on one's needs. Every other Bonvoy option (and Hilton) were at least double the price on the night in question. I have no real complaints about the room and some service elements were excellent.
