I used to take the points for my kids rooms when we traveled under the condition where I paid for them. I had an epiphany, let them sign up and earn their own points for future experiences. Fast forward, one of my kids just took a week long trip to Cancun using their points earned (stays and credit card). I love that my kids travel and get excited talking about how many points they earn. One is Gold and may reach Platinum and two are Gold and Silver with little hopes of reaching the next tier.
