if you book stays and dont intend to physically be there, but try to game the system, you can get your bonvoy account closed and your points forfeited. if you dont care about points / stay credits why would you try to make bookings this way?
I book in my name so I can control the booking, at least until the person checks in. I often have to coordinate with the hotel in case of late arrival, need to reschedule, or special request (handicap room, etc). I have no intention of gaming the system although I'm aware that some on this forum try to.
