Yes, that should be fine. Back in November, due to meetings finishing earlier than expected, I arrived at IAD at 5pm despite being booked on BA292 at 10pm. I wasn't personally checking in a bag, but figured since the desks were quiet it was a good opportunity to get document formalities out of the way, which they did. And accepted a colleague's bag for check-in who was on the same flight.
Can anyone confirm if the desks stay open the entire time between the 2 flights? Or you need to arrive before the desks close for the earlier flight as they then won't re-open until 3 hours before the later flight?
