Multi City Bookings above Value Class?

I'm initially looking at MAN-AUH-CGK-AUH-MAN itineraries with a couple of weeks stopover in AD and couple of days in CGK. I can fairly easily create Etihad Multi City (MC) bookings on the website but only ever get Value class as an option. Prices are reasonable, around £700 for 4 legs.
I'd like the flexibility of Deluxe as well as the significantly better mileage earning and lower Guest Seat U/G options. When I called EY they can sometimes; I've HUCA a couple of times, offer Comfort at about £60 uplift from Value but Deluxe comes in at £1000 more!!
When I price up single tickets or various returns I can consistently see that Value vs Comfort vs Deluxe for my dates have £50ish increases each time. When I lump them together in a MC booking the Deluxe prices quoted by agents are insane compared to one-way and return fares. The EY agents seem to have no understanding that these prices seem wrong and the system looks to have a glitch for Deluxe pricing.

Has anyone had any experience, and success, in creating Deluxe Class MC itineraries in economy; and getting reasonable prices? Also if not, does anyone have any explanations why the pricing is so wild?
