Minor bringing alcohol to California from Japan - Legal?

Can a minor bring alcohol—sake—from Japan to California?

Specifically, from Tokyo Narita to SFO, California, on a JAL non-stop flight.
If I did end up bringing any alcohol, it would be under a liter and under 24%, which one should be able to bring without declaring a riding to JAL (i think). However, I am, again, a minor (17) and flying alone (so I can’t say “oh, it’s my mom’s, just in the suitcase I happen to be holding.”). The sake, if I do end up bringing any, would be a present for my dad, and it would be brand new, sealed, and wrapped with a note to make it exceptionally clear that it is exactly what I claim it to be: a present.

A minor in possession is illegal in California, unlessthe minor was delivering it under orders from a boss / parent / guardian and only possessed it for that limited purpose.” This is from Shouse Law.

California codes specifically states “This section (Business & Professions Code 25662 - Minor in Possession of Alcohol) does not apply to possession by a person under 21 years of age making a delivery of an alcoholic beverage in pursuance of the order of a parent, responsible adult relative, or any other adult designated by the parent or legal guardian, or in pursuance of employment. That person shall have a complete defense if they were following, in a timely manner, the reasonable instructions of a parent, legal guardian, responsible adult relative, or adult designee relating to disposition of the alcoholic beverage.

This of course does not state wether bringing any over internationally would be okay. While in Japan, I would be accompanied by my grandmother and I would only be alone after my luggage would be checked (and therefore any alcohol gone from my possession without an adult until I get my luggage back.) Blood-wise I’m only a fourth Japanese, I’m an American citizen, and I look pretty much fully white when by myself (and not next to my asian mom/grandparents). No one in my family has ever been “randomly checked”.

I would love to know if it would be “legal”, taking all of this into account, for me to bring sake into America, where I’d be in possession of it only until I am out of security, where my family (including my dad, who the alcohol is for) would be waiting—and can thereafter take claim of the alcohol. Since the law states that I would have to be following orders from a parent, should I make sure I have a specific instructional email/text/voice message from them (specifically my dad, if I can) to help back up my case, just in case the slim chance of me actually getting checked for some reason actually happens? If so, would something along the lines of “Hey (my name), could you bring me a bottle of sake from japan to california for me as a present? thanks, (dad’s name).” The law also states that it would be a “delivery”—would “delivering” alcohol to my father under instruction of my father from japan to california count?
My big question, however: Am I interpreting this law correctly, or is there any other law that specifically states that this is illegal?

TLDR: If under specific instruction of a parent, I (17) should be allowed to bring under a liter of alcohol without declaring it from Japan to California, traveling alone. The alcohol is a present for the person who would instruct me to bring it. Is there anything contradicting this?
