People incurred extra costs due to some airlines using unreliable software so it's natural that they're asking whether they can have these costs compensated. If there's an ATC restriction, the compensation situation is very clear, but in instances where on the same route one airline manages to operate a normal service and other doesn't, it's absolutely appropriate to ask whether the latter airline couldn't have prevented the issue.
