Yesterday was quite challenging for the airline industry so I doubt you are the only person in this position. On days like this BA has to decide whether to wait for baggage to arrive at the gate, or miss the slot and get further delayed. At some point they will simply take off with whatever bags are loaded rather than risk even longer delays. It sounds like you have the WorldTracer reference number, and that's not real time, it has batch updates and frankly not at all customer useful. Usually missing bags take about 3 or 4 days to be delivered. There is nothing you can do to speed it up, nothing at all, so you best let BA get on with it, and buy anything you need for reimbursement. BA usually has a good reputation on the reimbursement at least.
