3 days prior to a recent BCN-JFK-PIT flight, I managed to rebook a J-award that was originally priced at 78k (purchased approximately 3 months in advance) to 64k, so prices do go down sometimes too. I considered this an excellent redemption value, demonstrating why AA far outpaces DL and UA in terms of the value of its loyalty program.
