Okay, I have a clarification because I've used CM to fly to Ecuador and Colombia in premium cabin using both Lifemiles and Aeroplan awards. Doing some searches it seems near South American and Central America/Caribbean destinations are available through AV and AC's programs. What isn't available is deep South America including Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Santiago. Those destinations are available but only through CM's program and UA MP.
I saw lots of Brasilia-PTY availability when I looked last night, but yeah for the most part deep South America is out.
But again, UA always had more CM availability - just under a different fare bucket and not at standard saver pricing. What's changed is not that. What's changed is now even the CM "I" saver space bookable through UA seems to be only for UA and not other *A programs.
