I had a recent experience with rolling delays, and I found out that the gate agents knew all along the crew would time out but said nothing at the gate.
Looks like the 2nd BOS-AMS flight should be a go this evening.
N813NW operating DAL257 AMS-BOS just left the gate 10 minutes ago in AMS, showing an estimated arrival into BOS of 9:17pm.
N813NW is then scheduled to operated DAL242 BOS-AMS, showing an estimated 10:25pm departure. (A bit aggressive on the turn time for an A333, but still).
There should be a crew there as the pilots would be starting their operating day for your flight. Likely are coming off layover from a TATL flight that arrived into BOS yesterday, or coming in on a deadhead from another base.
