Unfortunately, there may not be much, if anything, to refund. As noted above, you accepted the change AA offered after the original cancellation and have now cancelled that portion of your ticket. OW cash transatlantic tickets often cost more than RT tickets on the same route, so it's quite possible that no refund is due.
