Instead, I booked a first class award flight headed to Europe from EWR - ATH on the old 777 at the end of May that popped up. There aren’t many online reviews or videos on this route, so just wondering if anyone has flown this flight before and had a really good experience on the old 777? Or would it be better to hold out and see if availability opens up for the MXP - JFK daytime flight in the A380? Thank you!
I think any YouTube review of the old F on 77W would be representative tbh.
The F hard experience is not route specific, but aircraft specific. The soft experience varies by flight duration, rather than route, in general. Menus are route specific (ish), but wouldn’t change if the aircraft was up-gauged or down-gauged.
Setting aside the 77W gamechanger (which is only on a handful of aircraft), the F hard product is almost identical across all aircraft. There may be cosmetic differences for newer-delivery 388s and some retrofitted aircraft, but that’s just less blingy finishes, more leather and different colours. The seat is the same. The only significant difference would be the shower and lounge on the 388, which are dealbreakers for some, and not for others.
