way back when as one world emerald I got upgraded a good few times on BA flights to J and even F. but this was a decade ago- so I cant really say what you might get of the higher status these days.

but I think you are probably missing the best part. if you need 50k more LPs, thats also 50k more redeemable miles. if you travel to the uk a lot, thats enough miles for a y class flight or roughly half the number of miles for a j class flight. it's easy to extract $0.04 per mile with these sort of redemptions, thats far better than what you would get moving your spend to your chase card.
