Now understanding you tried the hotel itself (And there is likely a limit of how hard you could really push more if you accepted compensation, which the original hotel may have had to pay for), I guess I am probably with Schnit , using the points to get the extra nights if you need them. Are there any 12.5k hotels left in the US (or somewhere you are travelling soon), as if so you could get those 2 nights via reward stays.
