Reading between the lines, because you don't really give actual information on the use you get out of status. Seems you spend rather than fly your LP earnings. If you are asking whether you should spend on a CC 50k LP worth, without changing your flying habits, I don't see a real reason to do that for the cost. (Again there are other more advantageous ways to earn, but generally stating)

We also don't know where you live or when you fly, but us EXPs have seen a significant drop in UGs, and I don't even put that as a high level perk. Example my last two flights on a Sunday and Wednesday I've been ~5 on the upgrade list. With the hypothetical amount you are looking to spend to get PP over Plat, you would be better to pay for Upgrades/Higher Classes, as it will be guaranteed vs playing the UG lottery.
