The impression I get is that IHG's focus is more on northern Vietnam, with the IC Thanh Xuan Valley Resort (an hour from Hanoi) and IC Halong Bay Resort & Residences. Both of these are big, high-end properties. Priority for Marriott and IHG both in Vietnamese market clearly is: LUXE and ULTRA-LUXE. Case in point: Sun Group, owner of IC Danang, JWM Phu Quoc and the sponsor of Michelin Guide Vietnam doing
both Ritz Carlton Reserve and Luxury Collection on the 3 square km Hon Thom Island. So for smallish, middle-market hotels like Moire Hoi An, Vignette Collection (128 rooms) and Hotel Indigo Saigon The City (150 rooms), I suppose they might be trying to "time the market" for ideal moment to open such properties. For me,
these are the types of hotels Vietnam needs more of right now, and where IHG can offer something unique from the competition, but I digress

Re-assuringly, on vn.linkedin, one can see hired staff of Indigo Saigon and they are still actively posting, so fingers crossed this does indeed happen in Q4 or early '25.
