Is it a bit disingenuous not to tell about the brand switch, well yes, but get the booking first and worry about that later.
I have a points booking 3-6 October and needless to say I have heard nothing yet, but I agree the booking won't be honoured if Marriott takes over in September as announced. There is a strong possibility I won't need the booking but I plan to keep it to see what transpires.
